Maybe, redownload the program. Did you download the MacOS version (and not Windows/Linux)?
I have a MacBook Pro with M1 as well, and I don't encounter any difficulties.

Thanks!  It is fine now....  It did not fully download.  Windows says when files are fully downloaded, but with like just about everything else on a Mac, it's different.  First Mac for me....  I redownloaded and it booted up.
