it is very interesting to hear ragtime on a pipe organ. indeed it's very rare to hear any kind of jazz with a solid pulse performed on pipe organ, because the distance between the instrument and the performer and other latency makes it hard to play in time. but somehow this works! i also get the impression of a calliope, but whenever i've seen one it's either been in a museum or at the center of a old merry-go-round.

A calliope is a musical instrument that produces sound by sending …..steam …..through large whistles......
…There is no way to vary tone or loudness. Musically, the only expression possible is the pitch, rhythm, and duration of the notes.
The steam calliope is also known as a steam organ...……a steam pipe organ, has been identified with steamboats since 1865….… It was once a signal to head for the river - A showboat was 'a comin’.

Well, thankfully I can happily change the tone and volume with Organteq.
So now I also have a Calliorganteqpe
