I haven't checked mikes, but AKG 451s are used on more piano recordings than others. Better than KM194s. I'd also like to see stereo Neuman 47 tube mikes, and Vintage Telefunken ELAM 251 mikes. If not available due to price, Warm Audio has great copies for $900. The Warm Audio wa 47 reviews say it nails the neuman tube sound. Also, The Neumans can be rented in some major cities.

Or the ability to load convolution Impulse Response files in replacement of a microphone.
Maybe the best way to get, and try many mic types.
The Pianoteq reverb has it, so why not the microphones?
https://www.audiothing.net/impulses/vintage-mics/
http://micirp.blogspot.com/

Another idea would be to make more of the settings/utilities used in mic emulation user-facing in PTQ Pro. Since microphone emulation is usually a mixture of pickup pattern geometry calculation, EQ and other virtual effects settings, allowing power users to modify those directly could immediately give the community more microphone options. Standard users could still open mic emulation presets, while Pro users would remain able to tweak settings.

I'm certainly grateful for the new pickup pattern defaults in PTQ 7, which hopefully hints at more mic improvements in the near future, so this kind of thing is apparently something Modartt's been actively working on.

This is just a quick feature request for PTQ... Could we please start getting more mic options? As is it now, we only have 2 large diaphragm condensers, the U87 and C414. And while I love these mics, more options are always great! The Neumann KM84 small diaphragm condensers and more ribbon mics would also be welcomed.

An idea I think would be neat is if Modartt partnered with some Mic companies. Roswell Pro Audio make some great handmade mics here in the USA:

https://roswellproaudio.com/
