It comes from the Greek, but was first used to describe a class of animals by a French naturalist in 1797. He believed that thick skinned animals all belonged to the same family and categorized them together.</p><p>Nice to read that it was a Frenchman who” invented” the word for thick skinned animals&nbsp; <i class="far fa-smile smiley"></i></p><p>Now I’m thinking of the semi-anthropomorphic elephant&nbsp; (who is cruelly nicknamed &quot;Dumbo&quot;, for his big ears, but in fact he is capable of flying by using his ears as wings)&nbsp; &nbsp;when I’m listening to my own recording&nbsp; <i class="far fa-smile smiley"></i>&nbsp; Thank you!</p><p>Stig</p>]]></content>

He said&nbsp; ”I like the &#039;pump&#039; of the bass - something that you can&#039;t get out of a piano&#039;s strings”.&nbsp; Well, I think i got a bit ”pump” here <i class="far fa-smile smiley"></i> Thank you, dklein <i class="far fa-smile smiley"></i></p><p>Perhaps Joplins best waltz. As I said before, the piece combines two different styles of music, the classical waltz and the rag.
