Just to clarify, the 'horizontal' note-off line is for keyboards 'without' this feature. To allow note-off values when using a keyboard 'with' note-off feature, then a 'curve' similar to the Pianoteq note-on has to be set for this to work. I have both note-on and note-off curves saved globally.

Nick

Hi meghdad.

I would just lower or raise the note-off graph in Pianoteq, the horizontal line or curve is set to 100 by default, this means a value of 64 from your keyboard is 100 note-off value in a Pianoteq preset.

If you lower the horizontal line to it's lowest 0 value, you will hear a long release time, 127 maximum horizontal line will give the fastest release (useful for a piano piece with staccato). Try different values according to the piece you are playing, 100 value although not the middle value is a good average for normal playing, for a slow piece though, lower values will give a slower release.

Sorry to anyone reading my thoughts on note-off again, I have said most off this before.

Nick

EDIT: The lowest value 0 I think is no release, try lowest value note-off to about 3 for example, this way you will hear the effect.

Hello,

In trying to setup the velocity curve, Pianoteq rejects note-off caliberation because the piano does not send note-off events apparently. So after a bit of research on this forum and elsewhere, I found that there's a problem with fixed note-off values. Am I right? My piano sends a value of 64 on every key release:

So while it is not deal-breaking at all, I'd like to know whether or not this is set in stone and can't be changed using the MIDI config panel.

Thanks :-)
