Regarding the background noise If you described a 50 or 60hz hum that would be mains ground loop issues. However you describe sss or hiss. I've never used your speakers. it sounds like you have high output gain, which might be part of the design.  Without hearing it in person, or hearing a high quality recording to ascertain how loud it is I cannot tell.  That sort of background hiss is only audible at very low volumes or when there are super quiet passages in the music.

Maybe you sit a little too close to your speakers and are hearing the gain at the tweeters?
Obviously they are designed as nearfield but maybe you could try for wider spacing, or sitting further away.

Thanks for responding, I've tried several distances and it's not a hearing issue, it's just that this "white noise" appears whenever playing loud passages, like it's hot signal but it isn't as per PTQ output bar.. I'm now trying and even other types of music I'm having the same issue, only it's not audible when the bass and other instruments are loud. But for instance, if I'm playing a piano video on youtube I'm hearing the same hot signal..

When idle, it's sort of interference signal, very low, I don't know whether it's related to the noise I'm getting when playing loud.. that's why I'm suspecting from electricity maybe or cables..

My recordings which they're on youtube too sound also bad when played through the PC, I mean you can hear the ssss thing at certain passages where it gets loud

My configuration is:

Kawai CA97 as a MIDI controller
Scarlett Focusrite 2i4 (I'm using balanced outputs)
Active monitors M-Audio BX5

When I'm playing PTQ I hear sort of a sss when it comes to loud playing, even the monitors are set to 50% of their volume and the Scarlett is to a 50% too.

It also happens with sampled pianos (Kontakt) but in a way less noticeable scale.

Additionally, they even have a background sss (very low) when idle, so I'm starting to suspect whether it's somewhat related to electricity..

OTOH, they sound great while listening to youtube music even at louder volumes..

Other input is, I'm using the same sound card (channels 3 and 4) to play PTQ through my piano speakers (via line-in connection), where this issue doesn't occur at all..

Any clues on what's going on?
