Well, I have been sticking to 'close' sounding presets, but since the new Petrof I am using the prelude preset, I love it!

I think Pianoteq need to up their game on Staccato articulation, I don't think it's very good at all tbh. I have a Fantom 8 keyboard and the staccato when using Pianoteq is not very crisp or articulate. In comparison when I play VSL Steinway or Bosendorfer pianos they are truly crisp and articulate.

My experience I that pianoteq handles articulations very good, much better than the built in sounds in my DP (which by the way doesn't send different note-off velocity values either). However, "wet" presets, I. E reverb or other effects that simulates larger rooms, can have a substantial impact on articulation and how it feels to play staccato. What preset do you use?

I feel like it should be note duration that should be having the biggest effect rather than note-off velocity.

Check if your keyboard sends MIDI note off velocity messages. And, if necessary, adjust note off velocity map. Hope it helps.

No, I don't believe my keyboard supports dynamic note-off velocity. It is hard-coded to some value.

This is needed to support staccato correctly? If I modify the map, would I be impacting other aspects of the tone other than for staccato?

Right now it just seems to be a straight horizontal line mapping all velocities to 127. What would I change it to?
