After seeing some videos, I realized that with PTQ Pro it is possible to do splits and cross fades - actually the manual said so too. But then it struck me that velocity switches and "cross fades" are possible too!
I made a sweet FXP using MKI Basic for the low -> mid velocities, and NY Steinway Prelude for the mid -> high velocities.
The result is *a lot* of fun to Play.
