+++ great advice AKM - this is often overlooked. I did for a time when beginning with Pianoteq, being more used to non-piano (or synth controllers - primitive early dpianos etc.). My typical idea was to get as low latency as possible.. but turns out I like a 1024 buffer at 48kHz. I seem to have good low latency overall in my loop - but def would advise anyone who knows and wants a more realistic piano to try different buffers until their preferred latency is revealed.

(Just answered a post about achieving a more 'sluggish' feel without getting into latency.. just a thought - I feel like all ways can be considered.. everything connects to get our best results).

Same Here, Babyface Pro.

Some i5 6 cores. Used to play at 64 samples buffer for ages, but not long ago needed to do some multitasking like video streaming, so after experiencing some glitches tried playing at 256 samples of buffer. Surprisingly enough quite like it a lot, it is kind of more alike the real one.

Hello,

I play on a Babyface pro too.

I set the samplerate to 48kHz, polyphony to 96 (I don't need more) and the buffer size at 64 samples.
It plays perfectly well on an i5-7600K @ 3,8 GHz with 16Gb of RAM.
The playing experience is top.

You should be fine with your laptop after some tweaks (power management to set to Performance and bios to disable Intel Speed Step).

Mine is a desktop.

Hello from Bavaria in Germany :-),

maybe someone have a similar setup as mine and is more experienced as me and can tell me his "settings".
I´m curious about samplerate (in the Fireface settings and Pianoteq), Audio Buffersize (ms!?), Internal Samplerate, Polyphony.

Some key data about my system / setup and me:

Me: Beginner. Need to play with Headphones on a "digitalpiano" because
i life in a shared apartment.
(and I don't want to move out right now *G*)

CPU: i7-9750H @ 4GHz
RAM: 16GB

USB-Soundcard: RME Babyface
Midi Keyboard: Kawai VPC1 @ arrival at Januar 2021

Software: Pianoteq 7 Stage
Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (250 Ohm)
