Greetings to both! Thank you very much for all your help and I apologize for the belated response. There has been a lot going on at work due to a COVID shut-down and that has me too scatterbrained, and I am sorry that I haven't acknowledged your wonderful assistance. For some reason, I tried it again for the 39th time, and it somehow worked! I couldn't tell you what I did differently, but it appears that the program had a change of heart somehow.

Many thanks, again, and Happy Holidays (if you are Americans by any chance)!

Check you have not selected "Tuning - diapason" to remain unchanged (in "Freeze" panel).

In ver. 7, you can access "freeze" with ctrl+f

Not saying 'freeze' was the solution - but since I noticed this thread was started before ver. 7 came out - it's often a thing users can overlook - and is likely the main reason that ver. 7 implemented a system of copy/paste to eventually take over from freezing per se - but freezing may stay due to popular demand too.. so up in the air maybe for now - but - just interesting, that so many strange to solve issues are just related to people forgetting they froze some parameter a week ago etc.

Hoping you can get things to normal soon, dansatosan. I had assumed you got this working since no follow up post came.

tmyoung's thoughts are definitely on point, often the cause of something strange happening in any VST.

If these things don't help, definitely feel welcome to contact support - they're good and will look after you well.

I like that people post their issues here and delight in helping - but it's not necessary step before contacting support

Are you in a DAW or the standalone? Some hosts will force tuning settings onto VSTs and the change can only be made in the host software.

Also, make sure your controller isn't sending some sort of MIDI signal that's changing Pianoteq back to 440 as soon as you start using it.

Modarrt reads the forums and often replies; however, writing them directly will get you better support and faster than hoping they'll reply to you. They're really good about getting back to people via email.

Hi! Thank you both very much for your replies - I've been unsuccessful in tuning it to 430 despite going through those steps. I still have the same issue where it switches back as soon as try to tune it in any way other than the available presets. Should I email Modartt, or do they check these threads?

Qexl's way worked for me too. I'm on Windows 10 using the standalone. If you're in a Standard or Pro (and maybe Stage) we could also send you an FXP that should have the settings you need.

Heya dansatosan,

I go to the advanced tuning panel and on the top left click "Temperament" and choose "Vallotti & Young" there.

Next, on the lower right click "Diapason" button and select "Other" and type in 430 and hit "Enter".

This sets it at 430 and it doesn't flick over to anything else.

Hope this helps - but seems likely that you may already do that.

In case it's a bug of some kind..

I'm using Win 8.1 - not sure if a different OS might do this differently?

Hi everyone! I am currently having issues with my Pianoteq tuning adjustor. I am trying to do a remote collaboration with a historical keyboard expert who tunes his instrument according to the Valotti temperament and his A=430. I was able to find the Valotti-Young setting, but for some reason I cannot set the A to 430 (switches immediately back to 432 when I input my desired number). Is this something can be overridden? Thank you very much for any help!
