One thing I figured out is that my controller (Kawai MP9000) has an expression pedal input. So in theory I could plug the FC3 into the expression pedal input, set it to control CC64 and then control pianoteq with half pedaling and no need for the Midi Solutions box. However, the Midi Solutions box does have hte ability to adjust the responsiveness of the the pedal, which might be useful.

I didn't play with the responsiveness if I remember (I bought it years ago) but I did program it once to control the soft pedal so that I could use the on/off pedal for sustain at the same time, but that sort of defeated the purpose so I use it only for CC64. The FC3 responds well is and generates all values from 0 to 127.

The P-80 is a 20 year old keyboard that only works with its on/off sustain. If I plug the FC3 in the keyboard sustain input, the pedal doesn't do anything. It has to be plugged into the MIDI Solution box which is itself in the MIDI path. Keyboard MIDI OUT to box IN and box MIDI OUT to my Roland Duo-Capture EX used by Pianoteq.

midi sustain is basically represented by CC#64. So I think you would use the Midi Solutions box to convert continuous controller to CC64, and pianoteq should respond appropriately.

I don't have the answer, but I am also interested to know. On my secondary system, I use an Alesis Fusion8hd (88-note weighted) to control Pianoteq, and indeed it doesn't respond to half-pedaling with a Roland pedal capable of continuous output.
However, I checked the MIDI solution box specs and "sustain" is not one of the options offered....maybe it would still work in some of its other modes?

Is anyone using a Midi Solutions Pedal Controller together with one of the continuous pedals that supports half pedaling, such as the Roland DP-10, for example.....as a way to get around the fact that you controller doesn't directly support half pedaling?
