What I found when recording a midi file on the piano is that it has decimal values for velocity, which can be seen when playing back in Pianoteq. I wonder if this is the 1024 levels mentioned? Does Pianoteq actually interpret or use the decimal values?
And there is damper velocity? I don't remember seeing that before.

Would you chose the Disklavier XP option in the Midi/Dialects menu?
