I've been inspired by Romani folk music for years, in particular the complex and mysterious sound of the cimbalom. For this piece I paired pianoteq's cimbalom with a really dry pipe organ. For the pipe organ I was trying to get as close to the close mic sound on Kali Malone's excellent album The Sacrificial Code.
