The "Home" presets are the ones you seek.
For version 7 it's possible a few things might be made more standard across the pianos (If I'm not mistaken, EvilDragon may have made that suggestion recently).
The 2 modern Steinway pianos (D and B) have "Home" presets - they're the ones which are closest to the originally modeled piano at the start of the whole process.
The text is slightly different. Instead of:
"A versatile preset with a pristine sound, the closest to the original Steinway D 270 Concert grand piano. A good starting point for creating new presets."
but essentially, saying almost a similar thing ("clean sound" & "pristine sound" respectively, rather than "closest to" which indeed seems the better descriptor!);
The Steinway "Home" preset texts currently read:
Steinway D..
"This preset offers a clean sound. You may like to use it for your daily practice. Also a good starting point for preparing new presets."
Steinway B..
"A versatile preset with a pristine sound, making longer practice sessions very enjoyable. Also a good starting point for creating new presets."
It does make excellent sense to have a consistent "Home" preset across all pianos. I personally don't mind too much though if the real discrepancy is just in the text - but it would save confusion all 'round.
I like the idea of a preset "Piano and model" - but to me, "Home" does suggest something universal in one word and the description "closest to" makes most sense to me.
