Thanks. I posted partly out of simple astonishment--I've been missing a major parameter just by not having paid attention to what was in the mod destinations. (Nice feeling after I attached the size to the mod wheel, too--I somehow have a sense of physically rolling the back of the piano nearer or further away when using it.)

Jake, the piano size parameter is given in meter, it is the length of the piano (the width remains the same – determined by the keyboard width), and you are right, it is now a different parameter than the string length. The nice thing in the virtual world is that they are not necessarily connected!

I just now noticed that under Options\Midi, Piano size is listed as a mod destination, separately from String length. (I think that in earlier versions, the term "Piano size" meant the same thing as the string length.) Piano size isn't a parameter on the main interface.

Changing these two parameters (after I assigned the Piano size to a cc--the mod wheel works well for me) creates different results in the sound. But I'm not sure what the result is with the Piano size:

1. The numbers don't seem to correspond with feet in terms of the length--a setting of "2" is far too rich for a two foot long grand. That said, is there a way to determine a rough equivalent between the numbers and what would be a corresponding length of a piano?

2. Does this parameter change both the length and width of the instrument, with an assumed set of proportions?

3. What happens if the piano is shorter than the strings? Does the string length auto-adjust in some way to the size of the piano?

(And have both of these parameters been there for some time now? Sorry to seem so pleased if Piano size has been there all along and I've just missed it and assumed that the String length was all that could be controlled...I'm kicking myself for not seeing that both parameters were there. EDIT: Apparently the Piano size parameter has been there for some time. I went back to earlier versions, and it's mod destination in 3.0.)
