Try one of Logic's piano channel strip settings and replace the Logic piano with Pianoteq. That will get you started with something the Logic programmers thought was appropriate to piano and you can work from there.

Though you can use Pianoteq's built-in reverb and limiter (they're pretty good, really) you may want to turn them off if you're using reverb and/or limiter further down the line.

I would start switching of the built-in reverb that Pianoteq offers. It is a nice to have a built-in reverb. But I'm sure there are better sounding reverbs available from 3rd party developers that you can use as plugins for Logic and Mainstage.

I have Logic Studio (8) and Mainstage and therefor it is possible to have some pluggins after Pianoteq. I wonder what kind of pluggins you are using? I've tried some but I don't know what kind of effects that makes a piano sound better... And especially makes Pianoteqs sound even more realistic...
