I'm not very fond of #3 myself. It was composed many years ago, and just recently played with piano/strings. I'm most fond of 2 and 4, which were actual compositions based on structured ideas, while #1 was just a one-take improvisation.

I think the combination of instruments/sounds and how they relate to one another is an art form. To create a mood or atmosphere. Strings along with piano is a good choice. Your serie piano/strings 1, 2, 3, 4 is very good. I have listened again and my favorites so far are 1 and 2.
