Delicious piece Stephen, grows on you and a further listen gently reveals more layers (one of my fav things in music, the "must listen again" pull). Enjoyed the rhythmic patterns, the sense of a type of pace of change, yet the otherworldly distance between the elements, kind of suggesting stillness - interesting feel. Really gorgeous bass and conducting at the end (I'm a sucker for tasteful bowed contrabasso underpinnings).

Oh, I also love Piano - Strings 2. Really has a rich filmic sci-fi sensibility which really shines to me not least for its marvelous supporting harmonies - sublime.

Thank you.

I'm most fond of 2 and 4, which were actual compositions based on structured ideas, while #1 was just a one-take improvisation.

To create a mood or atmosphere. Strings along with piano is a good choice. Your serie piano/strings 1, 2, 3, 4 is very good. I have listened again and my favorites so far are 1 and 2. For me they create something special, a mood or special atmosphere (maybe because of what I have experienced in my life, I remember things when listening…..
Thank you very much, Stephen! Want more
