I bought the Karsten collection yesterday and am very pleased with the Steinway. I have not yet tried the others.

A man’s name is Karsten. You somehow misspelled it! Usually a V.I.P. (very important person) to a company or organization (MODARTT) dislikes having his name spelled just any ole way!
Peter Karsten the instrument collector from Braunschweig, Germany is chiefly responsible for all the instruments available as a new collection to PIANOTEQ end users.

The virtual copy of the New York Steinway square piano (1858) is evaluated and authorized by Steinway & Sons in New York. Moreover, Peter Karsten himself participated in many steps of the development of all the instruments ― from the initial recordings for the audio analysis until the final stages of the beta tests ― together with a dedicated team of experienced musicians. That way, Modartt ensured that the authenticity of the instruments corresponds to the most demanding requirements, adapted for concert performance and recording.
Anyway as you debate or very importantly decide whether or not the merits of rewrites and forum post edits are ever warranted or even worthwhile to you, when an ole switcheroo might just as easily do, I like to point out the high probability that a post of forum member David Pinnegar was the impetus to bring about this present collection, and guide interests toward it.
