Chromebook's memory and processor specifications really aren't very favorable for either DAW or Pianoteq standalone. However, most Chromebook's have Thunderbolt input, so with a proper Thunderbolt or DSP audio interface could work, as much of the latency is due to the low data rate.

In some of the latest chromebooks you can run Linux as a supported feature, but I know there has been some issues with the MIDI-implementation. If or when they solve that maby chrome books would work with Pianoteq. I think it's an interesting topic since more and more schools and educational institutions moving towards chromebooks.

Seems like a good case scenario for a refurbished laptop and Linux to me.

You might find a more powerful CPU at less cost that way, rather than getting yourself into an ecosystem with Chrome or IOS or Win too (given you only want a G suite and Pianoteq).

Plenty of Linux users here with more current experience than myself if you need an assist with it too.

i doubt it. chromebooks are typically low power devices and don't allow for third party apps anyway, only chrome extensions.
android i don't think has good latency so probably not suitable either.
IOS should be feasible though.

Hello people!

After a few reviews I was motivated to purchase a Chromebook. I have always liked Google applications a lot, I find it very efficient. But unfortunately it does not support Pianoteq, which is the main program of my computer.

What do you think? Will there be a version of Pianoteq for OS Chrome / Android?
