Very annoying - it's quite difficult to track down where the problem resides...
I guess I'm lucky that I don't have my problems all the time... just have to do the button push once per session usually. I keep thinking that maybe, as the W10 updates come through it might start becoming more reliable at some point...

As I said in my posting, it seems that this problem occurs with W10 not only with Pianoteq but with other music software dealing with MIDI import.
I am really surprised that this issue had not been raised from other W10/pianoteq users.

As anyone had recently MIDI configuration issue with Microsoft 10 as explained below?

I have a hybrid Yamaha up-right piano equipped with the silent system.
I connect it through MIDI Out to a Foscusrite Scarlett sound interface, itself connected to my laptop equipped with Microsoft 10, through USB to host.
I also tried to connect the Scarlet to laptop through a MIDI Out/USB cable, and to connect the Yamaha directly to the laptop with MIDI/USB, with the same outcome.
The Focusrite is recognised by Pianoteq as output, but there is no MIDI input signal received by Pianoteq (either though the sound card or when directly connected to the Yamaha).
I can import MIDI files into Pianoteq by using a USB key connected to the Yamaha, then plugged to the laptop to transfer the file, but I cannot use Pianoteq sound library directly with my piano, which is frustrating.
I double checked the cables (bought 2 sets), and there is no other software open on the laptop when I use pianoteq.
I went to the Yamaha store in London and did a try with a recent Transacoustic, with the same laptop.
When I tried the connection through MIDI out to USB no better luck, but when I used the USB to host connection, it was immediately recognised by Pianoteq.
So it seems that the problem is coming from the laptop having problems to accept the MIDI input from MIDI interface.
I spent quite some time browsing forums to find a cure and it seems that this problem happens to people who have migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 10, using different type of music software.
I tried to find a solution through Windows settings, but to no avail.
Anyone who has had that problem...and solved it?
