If you don't wish to set a smaller size whilst in standalone mode which will be used also when opening inside Cakewalk (have tested):
Click on the button at top right of VST window, the inserted Cakewalk toolbar "Give all keystrokes to plugin = Enabled"
Then, with computer keys, press:
Ctrl Shift A
That should bring up the Pianoteq 'about' window - which contains the other Pianoteq settings tabs.
In this Pianoteq window, you can click the "General" tab and look for the button "Interface Magnification", click and choose one of the smaller sizes.
If that allows a good size choice, then it may be good follow on to click again the Cakewalk button to "Give all keystrokes to plugin = Disabled" - if you need.
I found that in Cakewalk, the normal Pianoteq resize key strokes did not work in the VST window (every DAW has it's own ways) - even with "give keystrokes to VST" - because Cakewalk associates those with choosing their own toolbar icons and whatever other unseen reason - but it may be possible they'll work on your system.
The Pianoteq interface resize keys to try..
