Yeah, freezing works pretty well most of the time, but it seems like it would be nice to have the range limit on an easy toggle sometimes. (Some of the higher range-extended notes are real clunkers.)

Plus, if I trigger a “reload current preset” via a MIDI event it seems to cancel out even the frozen parameters.

The "extended range" toggle in 6.5.4 is nice, but I can't figure out how to map a MIDI control to toggle it. Has that been implemented yet? If so, how do I configure it?

As far as I can see, this toggle is indeed missing from the list of available MIDI actions in Pianoteq. (It is possible to freeze this toggle, though, so that you can have the extended range pre-selected even when you switch between instruments.)

So adding this toggle to the midi actions would be a feature request for the next version...

In Pianoteq, you might go to options/midi/insert new - to make a new parameter. Click relevant drop-down menu and make it "Transpose midi input -1" or +1 to your liking. (do each up and down as separarate params).

Consider mapping the one you want to trigger most often to a pedal (middle pedal may be a good candidate - but it will of course depend what you want to do, in real time or other).

There may be other things you could try - like on your digital keyboard, there may be way to toggle - or + octaves on the fly.

If not, maybe in 6.5.5?
