I hope so as I love the sound, too. Maybe JazzHarry will be kind enough to post his Bechstein fxp. I've been trying for a long time to get a warmer sound and still haven't been able to get things just right.

Of course it was me who was missing something (i had not understood to this point that the V2 ptq files can be loaded in V3).
Well. The "old" Bechstein sounds much better in PTQ3, too, but still I like the "new" Bechstein better.

What exactly you mean by amplitude?
WOuld be about soft the hammer just the hard striker?

I tried that and was not much usefull.

This sound is getting dangerously close to my ideal piano sound I think. Warm, sonorous, with just the right amount of metallic quality.

Yes, I see what you mean now. In V3, I've had to lower the MF hammer hardness down to about 0.3 to achieve about the same warmth as 0.5 in V2.

I'd never paid much attention to this instrument before now - it's very nice indeed, especially with a mellower/warmer sound!

I just did the comparision test, too.
Yes, there is a big difference between Bechstein 2.3 and 3.0. The hammers are definitely harder with identical settings in 3.0 which can be compensated by reducing the values for "mezzo" and "forte", but even if you do there is a difference.
May I say I like the 3.0 Bechstein sound much better? It's hard to define, but to me the new sound seems much more vivid than the old one - more details, more "body", and even with reduced hammer hardness more brilliance (which is likely to be the "harpsichord" component DonSmith mentioned)...
But this might be a matter of taste. I for one love the old grands (Bechstein and Erard) because of their highly coloured sound, and the Bechstein 3.0 is another step in this direction.
Well, if others want the "old" Bechstein back, why not add such a model since you Modartt people did such favours before?

Yes, I can hear a big difference between the stock presets and the recording on the demo page. I then loaded V2, which I thought sounded quite similar to V3. However, I notice that if I reduce the Hammer Hardness the sound gets a lot closer to the recording. (In V2 I have 0.03, 0.5, 1.6)

The Bechstein add-on it's a vintage piano, ver y old, and have a bass a bit different than actual models.

The Bechstein Grand Piano sounded good in Pianoteq v2, but if sounds thin almost like an Harpsichord or Pianoforte in v3.

Adding a value in each of the output microphone section gives it more body and a fuller sound, but it doesn't sound like the one sampled on the free add-on page, or the following links:
