What kind of machine have you got?

Anyway, you could try loading the Activity Monitor application (just do a search for it) to see if you have any applications running using a lot of CPU-cycles, the most likely candidate perhaps being a web browser with lots of tabs running lots of flash visuals. Quit these applications.

Hi Evert

I use a G5 PPC 2.5 GHz myself with an RME adat audio-card - I had a lot of problems until at some time I switched off the audio input on my audio-card and suddenly I could play normal again - only have some clicks using a lot of sustain and many, many notes...
Can't say if your system would respond the same if you switch of your input but maybe worth a try?

Ofcourse I need to remember myself of switching the input on again if I want to record guitar, bass or vocals again...

good luck
Hans

I use Pianoteq as VST plug in in Cubase (version 3)
The hardware is a PowerMac (2 yrs ago, not the Intel processor yet). Midi man and a Motu audio interface.

To my disappointment the clicking (CPU overload) begins quite quickly.. as soon as I play just a little faster then "lento"..
I have not changed any of the settings in the software yet. Buffer size too small? what else can be wrong.
I should not have to buy a dedicated computer, but maybe I will.
Evert
