As I remember, PianoTeq was a linux base apps at first. That's why I love it. It wasn't designed for windows until lately.

Also a linux user. I have a need to use an inferior OS callled Bindows or something similar, but I prefer Linux and mostly use it when I'm playing (OK, trying to play) with Pianoteq.

After I tried the demo (back in version 5) I'd have bought Pianoteq even if it meant hideous Bindows (but not Apple) had to be used because it sounded so much better (IMO), but having it run on Linux is a huge plus in practical terms and I hope Modartt will continue to support Linux.

Also the licensing scheme is great and means I don't need an infuriating hardware dongle and can run it on my desktop, which dual boots Linux and Bindows and my laptop without needing to fork out more cash. The upgrade scheme is also good value.

Get the latest version - the leap from v4 to v6 is huge, IMO. At the very least download the v6 demo and I think you will resist no longer - it's cheap as chips to upgrade it, too ( 29 euros IIRC ).

I'd also recommend Standard over Stage. The virtual microphone setups and the ability to use any FXP in full make it worth it for me. Stage is fine as a bare bones setup - same great sound, just not as flexible.

Another happy Linux user over here.
I have never never had a software dp play without latency and xrun problems until I found Pianoteq. Sounds great, runs perfect.

Another linux user here... I bought Pianoteq because it was (and I believe still is) the only virtual instrument that runs on gnu/linux

Huge +1 for this, coming from another Linux / Pianoteq user. The Linux support is what definitely sealed the deal, I simply will not buy software if it doesn't support Linux.

I purchased Pianoteq 4 back when I used Windows.

I haven't made music in quite a while, and since then I switched to Linux full time. I decided I wanted to get back into it, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that PTQ supports Linux.

Although v4 is working well for me, I'll be buying an upgrade to v6 soon, just to support the development.

Perpetual licenses and Linux support - I really can't stress how grateful I am for the choices your team have made.
