Pianoteq works perfectly on my custom build win7-64 sp1. I quit doing updates many years ago on the OS, and everything works perfectly and as I expect. Pianoteq is so small, it can be installed in near any drive. As a windows 7 user, asio is the goto for audio device. Even my mixers have their own version of asio. You should have no problems in win7. I typically run way down to 128 samples or less and still suffer no dropouts.

On a side note... You, Evildragon seem to be everywhere. It only took 2 years of me reading your posts all over the net, to grow accustomed to your short manner and damn near dead on target opinions. I now KNOW what you meant when you argued that pianoteq is great, in that it allows me more control than you'd ever find, over sampled versions. I prefer real when i can, but whos got the mics and rooms for piano? Guitar is one thing. Even tracking drums is doable. Piano???..... I'll just stay content with pianoteq

SSD should absolutely be the C: drive!

And no you can install Pianoteq anywhere you want, but it's so light you might as well put it on C:

Something related just entered the picture.

The laptop will contain a 100GB SSD and a "standard" 1.5 TB drive.

Which one would you suggest as the "C" drive ?

Is it possible to install Pianoteq on a drive other than the "C" drive ?

AND … If I do, is that going to present issues when I update newer versions, etc ….

The reason for these questions is that I had intended to install Pianoteq on the SSD but am now reconsidering pending the answer to these questions.

I currently run Pianoteq 6.4 on my Windows 7 system (and on my Linux Mint 18 system). I personally prefer Linux, but Pianoteq runs perfectly on both in my experience.

You might need ASIO4ALL for audio but you might not and try all the audio options presented by Pianoteq to get the best latency for your own system. But no problems.

If you download the demo and it works then the full version will also work, because they're they same code. The demo has all the instruments, you just unlock them when you buy instruments. So try the demo.

I am considering loading Pianoteq 6 on to a used laptop with Windows 7 as the operating system. Is there any reason to think Windows 7 will be a problem for Pianoteq 6 ?
