Such a beautiful slow rag!

I’ve always been fearful of trying to compose a rag, because the territory is so well trod.
But there are lots of wonderful, creative details in this one.
Thanks, George.

”composed Reflection Rag in the summer of 1988”. Well, what a good decision to record it - very good. Like it. Little things make the music swing….especially the second part from 1,20….and those Highlights/culminations at 2,04 and 2,20! wow! And nice sound. I always like Bluethner.
Besides being enjoyable, your music inspires me to practise/compose more.
Thank you!

I composed Reflection Rag in the summer of 1988. I finally recorded it today - on the Bluethner using one of the Recording presets that combines close and far miking. I have substituted a big church 4 sec reverb (mixed in very gently) that was imported from Sonnox Oxford. I may try some other pianos and presets and reverbs but at the moment am pretty happy with this mix. Always enjoy getting your feedback.

Greetings from California.

George

https://soundcloud.com/george-tingley-8...piano-rags
