By the way, huge kudos to Pianoteq for making Linux versions in the first place. This together with the amazing sympathetic reasonance were absolutely the deciding factors in me giving them my business.

Hehe, I bet few people still remember that the x86 64-bit instructions were developed by AMD because Intel originally backed the wrong 64-bit ship (Itanium) -- which is why in Linux systems, everything is still marked as AMD64 .

After extracting the 7zip file, you should find the 64-bit version in the folder named amd64.

From the readme :

Pianoteq for Linux as available as a standalone application, vst plugin and lv2, for three architecture:
* amd64 : for 64-bit intel or amd x86 processors (recommended).
* i386 : for 32-bit intel or amd x86 processors.
* arm : for arm processors (see the notes below).
