Is it me or does the note for note impedence in the pro version act much like a note for note sound smoother??? I'm finding it very helpful in getting rid of the ringing where there are no dampers in the treble octave and a bit!

Here I my latest (and personal best) settings for use with my Yamaha YDP - 143

I'm using Pianoteq as a plugin in Cantabile Solo 2.

I'm also using Cantabile's Velocity Curve filter as follows:

0.31 Enhance Curve &
-0.25 Compressed Curve.

I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen. with its bespoke USB driver.

Sample Rate 96000

Buffer 192

Additional Buffer 1

Approximate Latency 4.0ms

And in Pianoteq,

Internal Sample Rate 32000

Max Polyphony 256

Would love someone to try these settings and let me know what you think.

Ok. So two instances of enhanced velocity curves work well

0.45 en.
0.20 en.

Both to be used together and in this order

These are settings with Cantabile Solo (2).

I tend to use the Bechstein Sweet preset with this.

This is kind of fascinating. Having a high-end stage piano, the question of eventual maintenance is always in the back of my mind.

I started worrying about the GHS action when I read about several clunky MODX keybeds.

So, yesterday I thoroughly cleaned inside my 143 including keys, electronics etc., and applied fresh graphite (painted on from spray can using a small brush). All back together now and working beautifully.

Yamaha GHS action responding and playing fantastically now

Having long past my YDP-143's warranty, I decided to open her up and check the state of things in terms of dirt, hairs, moths and the like. After having loosened the keybed I had a look under several of the silicone velocity triggers, (and after applying graphite to one of them), I replaced the top board temporarily, powered up and played. To my amazement the velocities are much more consistent and the feel of the keys through Pianoteq (Bechstein Sweet) is sublime. I'm not sure why. Maybe just loosening the keybed freed it up. Maybe the speakers on top of the unit caused unecessary bending somewhere (KEF LS50's).

The curve used is an enhance curve (0.50) within Cantabile Solo 2.

I intend to post a demo of this - preferably a video.

I am delighted at the way the keys feel now (keybed unanchored) and will post all my settings including hardware, buffers, sample rates, volume etc..
