One thing that would be truly amazing (but highly unlikely to happen) would be that Casio released a controller-only version of the Casio-Beckstein Hybrid Grand.
I few years ago, my wife and I came close to buying a GP500, as we both loved the keyboard feel and the outstanding connection to the sound that it delivered (not to mention the gorgeous cabinet). Unfortunately we thought that the sounds left a bit to be desired (lack of complexity in higher harmonics for one), compared to a top Roland or Kawai, and that the price was just too much.

At the time, I had not yet tried Pianoteq. Has anybody ever tried playing Pianoteq from a Casio-Beckstein, or even owns both? (!). If so, I would be very interested in hearing your impressions!

Quote

Forgot to mention but the keybeds for these new instruments were created specifically for them including a brand new weighted mechanism and as well as the keys themselves. Casio are not rehashing any existing keybed here.

These keybeds went through three months continuous testing at the factory in Japan. Casio developed their own test gear including an automated key testing robot which strikes each key at different velocities millions of times.

At the end of testing they checked to see if any wear occurred and where it was so they could finely tune the production process for maximum quality and durability.

From my perspective as an end user and prospective customer I have to say this is one of the most beautiful feeling keybeds I have ever rested my fingers on...and trust me, I am NOT easy to please!

Unquote
