In a democratic world it should be preferred not to use an authoritarian principle of "blocking" the *sshol**, but to ignore them. So the real issue about this thread is not that the OP is a troll (he/she is), but that we just didn't ignore the empty claims (after the first response asking for more info and the resulting silence).

Thank you Joe for this post. I totally agree with you. Such people should be banned.

It is a practice I have noticed regarding ANY software on internet forums. It is probably just a form of trolling - Troll sitting back to enjoy the fall out. Maybe user incompetence, but it could of course be attacks from the competition, wishing to create doubt about rivals products.

What kind of controller are you using? Did you calibrate the velocity curves? Which kind of sound-card/audio-interface and/or amplifier do you have? Which kinds of monitors are you employing? If you are playing on a cheap midi controller with a springy synth action keyboard into a budget laptop and out of its $0.50 speakers, your results are not going to be optimal. I have about a dozen VST piano libraries and Pianoteq 6 is my goto... unless I'm in an Italian mode.

Pianoteq with poor velocity curves adjustment it's like a good bike with wrong seat height adjustment.

You can make adjustments to the velocity curve for your keyboard in Pianoteq.

Velocity curve is so important, it shouldn't be overlooked. I don't mind admitting that, when I started with Pianoteq, it took me a while to appreciate the importance of velocity curve. Running Pianoteq with an inappropriate velocity curve is a bit like having an expensive DSLR camera and not knowing how to adjust the exposure settings.

Do you have any other programmes using your sounds at the same time? I remember someone mentioning this in another thread. I notice a shift in the sound if another sound source is playing on my computer. It doesn't always happen, but it can make Pianoteq sound extra bright and thin when it does.

Pianoteq stage does not sound any different than Pianoteq standard.
You simply don't have as much adjustable options as standard or pro has.
I started with stage and it was the best pianosound I ever had from a digital setup. Now I run standard because I could upgrade using one of the sales promotions and not because of the better sound. They sound the same, but you can tweak more.

Could you explain which cheap e-piano from 1980 do you refer to?
And maybe give us a link so we can hear it and compare?

More seriously, finding the right velocity curve for your keyboard is a first step that has a great impact in the sound.
