I hope my modification gave a better version of this music ”The clock didn’t stop”. As Gaston suggested, I marked the coming of slumber by a tempo more and more decreasing, and suddenly return to the fast tempo when the ticking wakes you up. Also in addition to that, the volume decreases when the man is sleeping deeper and deeper… And adding more tex. Hope I am approved/accepted and can continue in Gaston-School :-)
And to prove that he really fell asleep, I played some chords with french horn to end the story.

A simple proposal :
Maybe you could mark the coming of slumber by a tempo more and more decreasing, and suddenly return to the fast tempo when the ticking wakes you up.
And why not add a short silence before the tictac restart ?

A man had a clock in the living room and one night he couldn’t sleep because of tick-tock-tick-tock. He ran, jumped and stopped the pendulum. He tried to sleep, but it started again but… He finally did not care and gladly fell asleep with the tick-tock slowly fading away…
This is the story that I try to describe with my music, inspired by Gastons monitor (well, I think it was Terence McKenna? that said: “The imagination is the golden pathway to everywhere.”). The result, this music was born :-)
Of course I had to think, which could be more irritating - Gaston’s monitor that squealed three notes every now and then, or the tick-tock clock that didn’t stop?
