Generally, I always us Binaural with headphones. For me this is the closest sound to sitting at an acoustic piano.

Stereophonic - For playing in a group
Monophonic - For playing in a group

Sound Recording - For recording or playing solo. In a group, it can sometimes cut through the mix better, but it can also overwhelm the mix. The mics in this setting sound like they are right up against the strings, so it can be more brilliant and more present when A/B'd against Binaural where the mics are placed up around your 'head'.

Im still not getting wether to choose binaural mode or sound recording for a realistic experience with headphones and player perspective.
In fact, i didtn touch the binaural mode, since I tested it with the Steinway D and thought it sounded quieter (less presence) and overall bad.
But i just testet it with the Demo Mode of the Steinway B, which I currently dont own, and tought it sounded quiet good.

Isnt there an somehow objective answer, which has to be more realistic?
And why do I dislike binaural with the D and not with the B? Does maybe this need a fix?

BTW: I just played an real Steinway B for first time, the modeling is indeed very good!
