You're welcome. Thanks for letting me in on your YC5 "secrets" to such a lovely sound. I'll work with it today.

Interesting about music and bullying. I've always taught privately in my home so that was not an issue for me personally. Usually the parent attended the lesson which I encouraged. There must be something to that because in the online discussion forums for the course I teach the interaction between students has always been polite and I've been doing this since 2005.

Best wishes,
Robert

Thank you Robert, for your kind words and support. I am so glad you like it and that it made your day. To make other people happy makes me happy as well, one of the greatest things.
The sound, YC5 Home: I used reverb Room 2 and a bit more of impedance and sympathetic resonance and own velocity curve (with keyboard), and Focusrite Scarlett.
I too, listened many years every week to classical music with my pupils, and every time I had them to listen for something in the music, a task (Grieg, Tjajkovskij, Chatjaturian, Satie, Bach…….). It made less bullying over time -
yes, it really did.

Really enjoyed this and love the way you play. You get such a great sound out of the YC5, too.

I teach music appreciation online and we covered the "Surprise" a few weeks ago. I'm sure some students were shocked when their computer speakers suddenly blasted out.

What a happy coincidence! Can't think off-hand of another one word substitute for "surprise" for your new pieces but you might consider making up your own word like Satie did for some of his works.

Thanks for posting. It's just what I needed on a cold dreary day.

My best,
Robert

Introduction, I hope you have time to read this.

Symphony No. 94 ”Surprise” (Haydn) gave me an idea to make a surprise in my own music. I played Haydn late 70s for my class and they first got a bit scared and then they were laughing. (If I had a smartphone that time I should have filmed it). Don’t know if Haydn wanted to wake up sleeping people in the concert, but he had a sudden fortissimo chord in his andante/ritardando/diminuendo music. I tried in my music to gradually prepare the surprise by playing slower and diminuendo before…….

In addition to the surprise in my music, I have a kind of ”take off”/unexpected tempo/style change, in the middle of my music, if someone is beginning to feel sleepy… :-) And after the surprise, my music returns to its gradually slowing ending as if nothing has happened…..(as did Haydn). And - it is interesting that a long symphony can get a nickname from a single chord!?

The name ”Surprise” is a work title for me, temporary name (don’t want same as Haydn). But I can’t think up a name for my own music ( sudden fright? sudden fear? smartphone wake-up? warning of danger? unsuccessful experiment?…..
Suggestions are welcome :-) Can change the title on YT later.

Thank you for reading my intro. I hope you enjoy watching/listening to my music as much as I did making it.
And - this music is the last one in series New style.
https://youtu.be/n9rI3ozXVGI
