I attempted a render of the Lucerne Erard using our 1849 Erard a while back ==> https://www.forum-pianoteq.com/viewtopi...68#p941868 , but the mp3 link I'd posted isn't working for me for some reason ('getting a "You do not have permission to access this page" error message). The post though does have some details about setting-up our 1849 Erard to come a little closer to Wagner's instrument as it is today (with some generous play of the condition & noise sliders) based on indications from the instrument's current tuner.

and Dave's spot-on: the straight-strung bass is indeed nice & beefy, not to mention clear! one of my favorite instruments!

Cool! Thanks for posting this. I think that the Pianoteq Erard 1849 in the Close Mic preset is actually quite close to this, and I had never noticed the relative power of the straight-strung piano's bass before. Never mind all the reverb on her cell-phone recording - the tone quality and rapid decay is similar.

For those of you interested in historic pianos, here's a video of a visit by one Tiffany Poon
to the Richard Wagner Museum in Luzern to play the piano. She had a good nose around although I don't imagine the recording equipment was more than basic.

Kremsegg one has an Erard 1849 which looks very similar. Anyone with a more experienced ear than mine care to comment on how similar the KM1 model is to this video's version ?
