Oh yes, I get that proper Prepared Piano is certainly not random. I think Cage's original aim was to create a sort of percussion ensemble sound with the piano (gongs, cymbals, bells, woodblocks...). Those broken piano sounds in Pianoteq are of course not really like a prepared piano, but they are a lot of fun to play with!

"prepared" is not random... nor in bad condition, it's often very meticulously... well, "prepared" !
And it's not only useful for Cage's pieces, but for instance Avro Pärt's beautiful "te deum" or "tabula rasa" too.
I tried to achieve it by using several instances of Pianoteq in several tracks of a DAW, limiting the note range of each one.

Yes, I would also like to see some proper Prepared Piano settings (the 'Prepared' presets on some of the pianos sound nothing like a prepared piano). For me it would be purely a fun thing, but I would still enjoy it. I think a lot of the capability is there already. If some Pro user is 'prepared' (sorry ) to put in a lot of time and effort, they could probably get somewhere close. Meanwhile, moving the condition slider to the extreme right will give you some delightfully random sounds...

I love pianoteq for its open ended sound design potential, as well as its incredible models.....

So....was wondering what the possibilities were for some elements of prepared piano to be modelled?

This might not be realistic considering the programming required but its something I'd love to see, even in a limited sense.
