Je pars toujours d'une improvisation dans Pianoteq standalone, qui enregistre tout ce que je fais (dans les paramètres de l'archivage MIDI j'ai réglé la durée de conservation sur "Un milliard d'années").
Ensuite j'ouvre Reaper avec une track template qui contient le preset Pianoteq avec lequel j'ai enregistré.
J'y importe tous mes petits bouts de MIDI depuis le dossier archives, ça devient des items Reaper, et là commence le gros travail.
J'ai tout un ensemble de raccourcis perso dans Reaper qui me permettent d'aller assez vite avec l'habitude.
J'en ai un qui va poser un marqueur au début de chaque item (je pose aussi à la volée d'autres marqueurs dans le courant de l'item si besoin).
J'ai un autre raccourci "Increase item rate" et son pendant "decrease item rate", ça me permet de contracter très précisément la durée de lecture d'un item, je compense ainsi mon manque de technique pianistique et la mauvaise réponse de mes doigts vieillissants.
Une séquence d'impro dans Pianoteq peut durer parfois 15 ou 20 minutes pour n'en garder que cinq ou moins au final.
L'unité de conception vient du fait que j'enregistre en continu, je peux suivre mon idée, je n'ai pas m'occuper de "stop" et "record", Pianoteq fait ça tout seul.

I always start from an improvisation in Pianoteq standalone, which records everything I do (in the MIDI archiving settings I set the storage time to "A billion years").
Then I open Reaper with a track template that contains the Pianoteq preset I recorded with.
I import all my MIDI bits from the archive folder, they become reaper items, and then the big job starts.
I have a whole set of personal shortcuts in Reaper that allow me to go pretty fast with habit.
I have one that will place a marker at the beginning of each item (I also place other markers on the fly in the course of the item if needed).
I have another shortcut "Increase item rate" and its counterpart "decrease item rate", it allows me to contract very precisely the reading time of an item, I compensate my lack of piano technique and the bad response of my aging fingers.
An improv sequence in Pianoteq can sometimes last 15 or 20 minutes to keep only five or less in the end.
The unity of design comes from the fact that I record continuously, I can follow my idea, I do not deal with "stop" and "record", Pianoteq does this alone.
