In "options" panel, "general" tab, click on the 'Edit keyboard assignments' button. You will be able to remove or reassign the space bar.

Simple question: In stand-alone, how do I make the MIDI player transport functions (play / stop) not respond to the space bar of the computer keyboard (or anything else, for that matter)?
