Merci Gaston!!! je ne connaissais pas cette oeuvre de Franck, mais j’adore!

P.S.: quelle coïncidence! je connais très bien la ville de Blois pour y avoir habité quelques temps, au bord de la Loire. C’est magnifique!

…

It’s true, the character of Frank’s prelude and fugue is very similar to some Scarlatti sonatas, especially in measures 5, 10 & 15.

Scarlatti was also an organist, I believe.
I am very excited about the release of the full version of Organteq!

Fully in agreement with Joe and dklein on the piano sound. If it had been a blind test, I would have said it was an acoustic grand. I had a feeling that Pianoteq had truly 'come of age' with version 6.1; these recordings certainly prove it. They're probably the most Romantic-sounding interpretations of Scarlatti that I've ever heard, but they're beautifully and tastefully done, and lovely to listen to.

Thanks for your comments!

I'm glad you like it!

One of the challenges of this recording was to get a natural sound and recreate the atmosphere of a relatively small recording hall. I hope it's successful

I think the most important thing is to make music, whatever the technology used, as long as this technology faithfully reproduces all the nuances of the original instrument. Pianoteq is really great for this!

Hello Mr. Wolf,

Very beautiful- and sensitive playing!

Had I encountered these Scarlatti Sonata performances, and not being told beforehand this was Pianoteq, I would have assumed this was a studio recording with an analog grand piano, perhaps with a plate reverb added in post-processing, and maybe a slight amount of compressor added so as to keep the transients from exploding beyond -0dB.

There is a lot to be said about the placebo effect in stating these performances were via Pianoteq. "If you tell 'em <that it's Pianoteq>, they will notice. Otherwise, there's no reason to suspect this is not a studio recording."

Congrats to you, Sir!

Cheers,

Joe
