Reviving this thread to post a summary of my experience with M-Audio Hammer 88 Pro and why you may not want to buy it.

- The keys are wobbly and slippery, especially the black keys.
- The key action is very noisy. Thud clunk thud clunk.
- The white keys have sharp edges.
- The pivot length is very short. Playing near the fallboard is not feasible.
- The USB MIDI implementation is somehow broken; while playing, it sometimes sends extra note-on and CC data I didn't input.
- Note-off velocity is fixed at 64.
- When I contacted M-Audio support asking about note-off velocities, I never got a reply.
- When the keyboard has been idle for a few minutes, all the pads and buttons go into party mode with flashing colors. This continues until you press a key or turn off the thing.

Or you could listen to M-Audio's marketing department: «Hammer 88 Pro’s best-in-class 88 graded hammer-action keybed combines professional, graded, weighted hammer-action with advanced high-speed keybed scanning technology for an ultra-expressive playing experience.»

It seems like the source of the problem was that I created manually some weird note-off velocity curve in Pianoteq.
I calibrated the note-off velocity curve with Pianoeq velocity curve calibration and it seems that now things are settled.

The keyboard is really good when it works as it should and without glitches. The linear curve is perfect for Pianoteq and everything I do, whether it is virtual pianos or other virtual instruments.

Here are the latest news:
I played for about an hour or so.
It started to happen a lot with Pianoteq 5 as well.

I didn't notice it happen with other virtual pianos in this last session.
As a matter of fact, I remember I noticed it happened only one time with other virtual pianos.

I have to mention I played with Spectrasonics Keyscape most of the time I didn't play with Pianoteq.
I don't remember I noticed it happened with non piano virtual instruments.

I think it's still early to get to conclusions, because I didn't played enough on my Hammer 88 yet, but so far it seems that the problem is not only with the Hammer 88, but with Pianoteq as well. It seems like they fail to integrate with each other.

Excellent things to do with most dpianos and DAWs Lycomedes!

For your point 1, might be worth saying that in some dpianos, the 'MIDI out' may be called something like "Local MIDI", always good to turn this kind of thing OFF.

Have found not turning it off, can be attributed to some glitches, esp. over USB connected dpianos, not so much if using old style MIDI cabling (which I prefer). Would be interested if others find similar.

For example in Native Instrument Kontrol 88 the MIDI CC value of the mod-wheel is fixed - can not be changed at all via the MIDI editor of this keyboard.
Other keyboards just don't have the wheels on the left.

Hopefully I'll get along via Cubase's MIDI transformer and such.
