Feature added in version 6.4.0 (2019/01/16)
The tempo / time signature of the metronome is now embedded in midi files recorded with Pianoteq.

Thank you Gilles. Your efforts confirm and clarify the issue.
I hope Modartt will add tempo data to the saved MIDI file in future as this would make the recording and MIDI export function of the standalone player a more useful feature.

A little correction to my post, pianoteq doesn't seem to save any tempo information...What's misleading is sequencers then display their default value, so I get 100 BPM from Sonar, but 120 BPM from MuseScore or MidiSwing for example...others may vary. Found this by looking directly into the file.

MIDI files saved by pianoteq when playing the keyboard are created with a fixed 100 BPM, whatever the metronome value. Pianoteq's metronome is only an aid for playing in time, it is not recorded. This also means that we can't get the audible metronome to follow varying sequenced tempi when playing an external MIDI file, something I find missing...

Could someone please try this and let me know if they experience the same?

Record in the standalone Pianoteq player to the metronome set at a tempo of say 100BPM, save & import the MIDI file to your DAW. Are the notes in time?

I found if I set the tempo of the Pianoteq metronome to 120BPM and record to the click, then save & import the MIDI file to my DAW, the notes ARE in time. So, is the record feature in Pianoteq set to 120BPM regardless of the metronome tempo?
