I really don't want to get into an argument here, but, of course I listened to the comparison demos (and, perhaps more importantly, tried playing them )
The new factory presets are fine, so long as you have a continuously-variable sustain pedal (which I presume will be functional in those presets.. not at my music computer right now, so I can't test with a temporary continuous controller ***), but, for those of us with just a simple "on/off" pedal, the damped position is too severe fore regular use, whereas, in the v5 version, it is kinda in "half-pedal" mode, which seems to be generally more useful unless going for a real solo (and virtuoso ) performance.
***I have just tried controlling the sustain pedal from (continuous) CC#4 on the factory V-M Tremo preset. While the response is not continuous, it does indeed have a "half" position.
