I guess it comes down to my own biases. The RD800 is nice but overpriced and I still prefer the Kawai actions. The price tag of the FP-90 alone is a major turn off. At that price point I'd much prefer/recommend a decent used upright. My perspective is narrow however: primarily thinking of classical piano student grades 1-6.

Reckon pretty much any digital piano would handle that .

I never ever liked Roland's piano sounds.

I do enjoy it, but I get tired of any sound if I play it too long -- so thank god for Pianoteq!

Myself, I have a Roland RD800, and have played Kawai keyboards including the MP11 and CN35, am a huge fan of Kawai instruments, but with regard to action and piano sound, (IMHO) the Roland holds its own. Now I've not played or seen the FP90 yet, but on looking at the FP90 specs, there's a lot to like, and the user interface looks simple and easy to use.

Bottom line though -- the decision of which is the best keyboard for any one individual is a highly subjective one, but again, I can see Roland holding its own.

The price of this keyboard is very competitive at £1,500.

I shall be keeping an eye on this board's reviews!
