Yes, you can make one of those work. You'll have to wade through the setup, which is a bit geeky (being MIDI and all) but it's really pretty straightforward and the Pianoteq MIDI setting method is quite fast and easy. I have a U-Control UC-33 that also acts as my MIDI-to-USB interface and it works fine as a control surface.

It's worth noting that once a note has been struck, changing the parameters won't affect it even if it's still sounding. But they will affect anything played after the parameter change.

I am seeking advice on the feasibility of using a MIDI mixer/controller to control parameters in Pianoteq under Linux, such as e.g. Voicing, Design, Effects. This would be a mixer style controller in addition to a piano keyboard. Couple of examples of the types of inexpensive controllers I had in mind are shown below (Wordle Easycontrol, Akai Midimix).

Note that my knowledge on practical use of MIDI is poor.
