I've been recently recording some simple solo piano tunes, and have had a tough time finding a virtual piano which could give me the resonance and blooming qualities of an acoustic piano.
After using various hardware piano sounds & sampled sounds, I decided to start with the D4 Jazz Close mic preset and see where it would lead me. Apart from Pianoteq's superb playability which actually encourages you to play & create, I think the sound is well suited to this type of playing. I'll post a brief audio file of some purely improvised playing. Let me know your thoughts!
