Has there been a time that Pianoteq it worked properly?
Have you checked if you've got enchancements or effects activated in your sound settings?

I once had enhancements activated in my sound settings (Windows 7) and it made Pianoteq sound overly bright in its velocity.

I would turn the volume inside Pianoteq way down and the volume on the sound card up to compensate. The output levels from Pianoteq can overwhelm some audio card DACs and cause clipping.

Can you have a sample rate mismatch in a Pro tools RTAS plug in? It doesn't sound like a normal cpu glitch where the sound would click and pop.... I'll record some videos this evening with sound examples

Sounds like either a sample rate mismatch, or too low latency which CPU cannot keep up with.

Hey!
Maybe I'm going crazy but I just can't use my Pianoteq 5 Stage without it distorting. Even with the volume right down, all the effects off, and the limiter removed, and the foot pedal sounds turned off.

As soon as I play more than a few notes, it starts to bunch up and distort in a very non-musical way.
I thought they were artefacts from the limiter, but even with that off I can't play at the velocity I desire without the sound of the piano having a haze of 'fuzz' over the top.

Has anyone else experienced this? In the mix I can sometimes live with it, but if it's a solo piano it's a total no-go. I can post samples if required but it's so so obvious and has never gone away, wether standalone or RTAS in pro tools. Have checked my gain staging over and over, nothing else distorts at such a low level like this.
