A bad tunner can spoil a very good tunning, if the initial tuning was nearly perfect.

That's remarkable. I read that even in the famous Rainbow Studio in Oslo they usually tune "just" once a day and if necessary, of course.

Over the years, I have been to a number of classical solo piano concerts in Chicago's Orchestra Hall on many a Sunday afternoon. During intermission, the piano tuner is touching up notes for the second half of the solo piano concert. Ironically, this is not done when the piano is used with orchestra -- perhaps it would be too intrusive to do so at that type of concert.

Excellent :-)!! In my opinion slight note by note detuning indeed makes the sound more organic and real. I like your reverb setting and other tweaks as well. Quite ambitious for a beginner, Sir, your tweaking AND playing! You are kidding, aren't you ?

It's right that a piano is practically never perfectly in tune even if it's just tuned, isn't it? Is there any awareness of the actual tuning after tuning and how quickly a piano not being played gets out of tune under optimal conditions? I'm thinking of tension measurement of all strings simultaneously.

Touch-wise I'm using a cheap (£35) Acorn 61-key midi controller. I really could do with something with a proper hammer action at some point, but finances just don't allow at the moment.

As per the title really - I'm a beginner from the UK and I'm really enjoying the sounds available from pianoteq standard. After much tweaking I have attached a file that I am happy with - it's the D4 but as I said quite heavily tweaked and somewhat 'imperfect'.
