Thank you all for the imput.

Well, the charming aspect in the vídeos I posted it's related with the famous pianist and the old piano between public. It's like bringing her and her music closer to public, to day by day life, through a domestic piano model.

Some "body" it's reqired to the piano, to give some imponense. A compact keyboard and a lightweight stand would not be a good idea.

A small upright with retrofit system and pianoteq, could be nice.
Not to be left alone by night, of course.

How to explain what hapenned to Joshua Bell:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM21gPmkDpI

People o rush?
Too many amateurs violinist on streets and subways, making people borred with one more?
Any risk to someting like that happen with a pianist?

Avant Grand with multi-speakers or any upright pianos with multi-speakers will get more attentions.

Seattle, in the US, where I live, has a program during the summer where they place upright pianos in a bunch of different parks and waterfront settings. As much as I love Pianoteq, it just wouldn't be the same if they decided to plop digitals all around. So much of the charm comes from those broken keys, poor tunings, rotting wood...

Plus, someone would totally steal a digital piano at night, whereas the acoustic uprights are all so old and worn (and heavy), that they're there all summer, with no attempt at theft!

proyb wrote:

Good luck if you can get any pianists on Pianoteq.

Well, some, like Paul Badura-Skoda, support the project...

Anyway, I'm amazed of how in good shape the piano seems. It's almost tuned and all keys seems to be working - not quite the same as the Yamaha U3 you find in Parisian stations. In Lille Europe they have a digital, a Clavinova if I'm not wrong - firstand only time I've seen a digital used for this purpose, which doesn't seem a bad idea to me, since they usually need much less maintenance, they stay tuned and they're quite effective (it's quite a waste to use nice acoustic pianos for such a noisy environment).
