I just checked the comparison and it says "microphone settings" aren't included in stage. I'm sure this used to say "sound recording" but now that we can change microphone settings as well, I guess they changed the wording.

Erm. I think the whole point of sound recording mode is that you can change the microphone settings... so before there was the possibility to place virtual microphones, there just was no 'sound recording' mode in Pianoteq, at least not in the current sense.

However, 'stereophonic' mode nowadays is a special case of sound recording in the sense that you can get the exact same result by placing the mics 'just so'. If I understand the information by Modartt on that topic correctly, 'stereophonic' produces the same result as 'sound recording' as long as you don't touch the microphone settings, although I am not sure if the same is true for presets with 3 or more microphones.

If the above is correct, however, then you will only notice a change after switching to sound recording mode and changing microphone settings, and this might be the reason for the wording in the comparison sheet.
