For those with tactile transducers like the Dayton Puck to give that sense of 'presence' to the bass notes (and the other notes as well), or a real piano, the sound can be close to perfect, perhaps even ideal. For headphone users or less than optimal speaker setups; not so much. I found v5 to be a lot better with the low notes in terms of presence, and saw that I could finally tweak the partials such that the notes feel 'present'. I don't have the pro version, so I will issue a challenge for those who do and are more experienced in getting 'that sound'.

To give an idea of what I was after, here are the spectrum modifications for the notes in question. The starting preset is the default D4 "Daily Practice". Do whatever you like (changing microphone positions, # of mics, any and all parameters) to convey your idea of a 'present' bass.

MIDI #35 1st 1.50 dB 2nd 1.50 dB
Interpolate 1st partial to MIDI #30

MIDI #30 1st 5.00 dB 2nd 1.50 dB
MIDI #28 1st 6.00 dB 2nd 3.00 dB
MIDI #27/26 1st 8.00 dB 2nd 3.00 dB
MIDI #25 1st 10.00 dB 2nd 3.00 dB
MIDI #24 1st 10.00 dB 2nd 3.00 dB 5th -8.00 dB
MIDI #23 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 6.00 dB 5th -8.00 dB
MIDI #22 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 6.00 dB
MIDI #21 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 6.00 dB
MIDI #20 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 8.00 dB
MIDI #19 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 8.00 dB
MIDI #18 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 8.00 dB
MIDI #17 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 9.50 dB
MIDI #16 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 15.00 dB
MIDI #15 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 10.00 dB 4th 7.00 dB
MIDI #14 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 12.00 dB 4th 5.00 dB
MIDI #13 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 14.00 dB 4th 7.00 dB
MIDI #12 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 15.00 dB 4th 5.00 dB
MIDI #11 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 15.00 dB 4th 7.50 dB
MIDI #10 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 15.00 dB 4th 4.50 dB
MIDI #9 1st 15.00 dB 2nd 15.00 dB 4th 7.00 dB
